Asif’s debut commercial for Black Label Productions was the epic “The Tale of Thomas Burberry”. Featuring an all-star cast of Domhnall Gleeson, Sienna Miller, Dominic West and Lily James and written by Academy Award nominee Matt Charman. Comprising of a three-minute cinematic trailer, the film is inspired by Thomas Burberry’s life and achievements, reimagining key events that have shaped the company’s history and values.

The film is inspired by the pioneering discoveries of the company’s founder, reimagining key events that have shaped Burberry’s history and values. Bringing to life the brand’s pioneering heritage of innovation, exploration and iconic products, real life moments re-enacted in the film include Thomas’s invention of the weatherproof gabardine fabric (used still to make the brand’s iconic trench coats today), dressing the military, and outfitting polar explorers and pilots.

He has since worked on commercial projects for Standard Chartered (starring Usain Bolt) and Prudential. 
Asif is the much acclaimed and awarded film maker who’s previous work includes; ‘Senna’, which not only won a BAFTA Award for Best Documentary and Best Editing, it also won the World Cinema Audience Award Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival 2011.

His most recent film ‘Amy’ became the highest grossing documentary of all time in the UK. It was also acknowledged by The Grammys, BAFTA and The Academy Awards, and won one of the industry’s most prestigious awards, an Oscar for Best Documentary Film. He is currently in post-production on his latest film ‘Maradona’ which is due for release later this year.
